FCA The fellowship of Christian Athletes is a national organization whose primary purpose is to confront athletes and coaches and through them the youth of the nation with the challenge and adventure of following Christ in the fellowship of the church. Any male athlete may join. FHA The Dalton High Future Homemakers of America is an organization for any girl who has had, or is taking one year of Home Economics. To be inducted, pro- spective members must pass a short quiz. The pur- pose of FHA is to prepare high school students for the responsibilities of a homemaker. The FHA centers its projects and activities around homemaking and family living. All members are encouraged to work toward earning degrees of honor, as well as practice good character in the home. HERO Home Economics Related Occupations are affili- ates of Future Homemakers of America. The HERO Chapter of Dalton High is composed of those stu- dents who are preparing for a career with children. Each student in the Occupational Child Devel- opment class is a member of the club and the chap- ter functions very closely with class activities. Some of the projects in which the chapter has participated this year are a Halloween party for Fredrick Street Day Care Center, Christmas stockings for the Cheerhaven children, and preparation of cot sheets for the day care center. The Chapter also aims at developing leadership and initiative by allowing stu- dents to plan and carry out their projects. S.G.A. The main purpose of the Student Government Associa- tion is to represent the wishes of the students of Dalton High School and to recommend, as a body, ideas and changes to the faculty and administration. In addition to being a representative body for the students, it compiles and sells the Student Directory. The SGA also is respon- sible for the revision of the Student Handbook and it plans and finances the Honor’s Day activities. The major activity of the SGA is the planning and financing of all Homecoming activities. Members of SGA are elected in the fall by the student body.
