The Anchor Club is a service club for girls from the Senior, Junior, and Sophomore classes in high school. Some of the aims of the club are to develop leadership, respect, and to serve the school and community. The projects of Anchor Club included sponsoring six children to Camp Hi-Life. They also awarded a 100 dollar scholarship to an out- standing Senior girl. The success of the An- chor Club is measured by the amount and quality of unselfish service that is rendered. FRENCH CLUB The French Club is a school sponsored club. Stu- dents having one year of French are eligible for membership. The purpose of the French Club is to promote interest in the French language and civ- ilization. Some of the activities include an annual trip to a French restaurant in Atlanta and c French dinner in the home of one of the members. Mem- bers: Martha Whiterer, Mary Julian Lumpkin, Nor- ris Little, Anne Chance, Wesley Chance, Debbi Jor- dan, Chip Kreischer, Fran Burger, Angela Hullender, Tracy Ward, Steve Yeargin, Mitch Maret. Advisors: Mr. and Mrs. Miller. SCIENCE CLUB The Science Club is an organization composed of people interested in further development of their interest in science. There are four basic goals; to encourage continuation of scientific education, to invite ex- perienced local people to speak on scientific subjects, to go on field trips to see science working in the environment, and to do special projects. Any high school student is eligible to join, and the only re- quirement is a genuine interest in science and learning.
