Grapplers Win Third Straight Title s t r e a k Dallastown wrestling was no different this year than it has been in past years. The wrestling team completed a perfect 17-0 season. Due to this perfect season and some convincing wins, Dallastown was rated number one in District Three for all of the season and number four in the state. Dallastown dominated in every dual meet with the exception of a pressure cooker with Dover for the league championship. Since a loss to Hanover in the 78-79 season, Dallastown has won 57 consecutive matches and this win streak may be extended even further next season. The wrestlers also won their annual holiday tournament for only the second time and, in addition, took first place at the prestigious Lititz Lions Club Tournament. After all was said and done, Dallastown had three undefeated wrestlers and six Y.C.I.A.A. All-Stars. The undefeated wrestlers were Scott Dolmetsch, Ron Myers, and Dave Gable. The All-Stars included Scott Thompson, Scott Dolmetsch, Ron Myers, Dave Gable, Dave Bell, and Dave Brenneman. In post season action, the name of Dallastown shined. The team captured the section- al team trophy by winning seven individual sectional titles. Sectional champs were Mark Noll, Ron Myers, Brooks Seitz, Dave Gable, Dave Bell, Keith Folkenroth, and Dave Brenneman. Next, the Wildcats accomplished a feat that no Dallastown wrestling team has ever gained recognition for. They won the District Three team championship! Mark Noll and Keith Folkenroth were both crowned disctrict champs and Dave Gable dropped a decision to finish runner-up. Scott Dolmetsch and Dave Bell qualified for states by getting third. In state competition Dave Gable placed 3rd and Mark Noll placed 5th. Gable also set a new county record with 101 wins.
