Willman, C. Grove, L. Garrett, L. Tateosian. Despite the low percentage of wins, the girls' ten- nis team gained some sense of accomplishment this year. Sickness and injury plagued the team until well into the second half of the season. Yet in the face of almost constant instability in the start- ing lineup, the team remained a close-knit, deter- mined group. Their determination paid its dividend when near the end of the season the team picked off its first victories in over a year. The league will remain tough, but with three starters returning, next year should prove more fruitful. Coach Oswald Varsity Stats 1981 Outcome The Varsity Field Hockey team finished the 1981 season with 3 wins and 10 losses. They were lead by first year head Coach Jeri Myers and Co-Captains Tara Keeney and Paula Emenheiser. At the beginning of the season, we lacked experience and skill, but we held together as a team and continued working toward our goals. By the end of the season, we were Feeling The Flow. Even though our team didn’t have a successful team standing as far as win-loss records, each individual team member was a winner,” commented Coach Myers. The Stickwomen celebrated victories over York High, Kennard Dale, which was the annual night game, and West York which ended with penalty strokeoffs. Bev Munchel, a junior, was chosen for the York Daily Record All-Star team. Honorable mentions were given to Paula Smith, Angel Fantom, Tara Keeney and Paula Emenheiser. Bev Munchel and Tara Keeney were also recognized with honorable mentions by the York Dispatch. For the 1981 season, the high scorer was Paula Emenheiser, offensive player Paula Smith, defensive players Kelly Myers, Tara Keeney and Bev Munchel, playmaker and hustler Bev Munchel. Tara Keeney the Wildcat goalie accomplished an 82% goal average record for the season.
