Myers. C. Myers. The potential for a winning season was there. The Varsity baseball team started off with an impressive 5-1 pre-season record. The team scored 41 runs in the 6 pre-season games. Coach Shoff was disappointed, howev- er, in posting a 3-11 record in league play. He commented, A glance at the scores and one can tell we could score runs this year. We just couldn’t keep the other team from scoring more than we did.” John Gemmill led the team in batting with an average of .428. Overall the team’s batting average was .280. The team’s attitude was ex- cellent allthough the season was disappoint- ing. Greene The girls track team had a fine year with only two loses, Red Lion and Dover. We were very impressed with their pro- gress throughout the year,” commented Coach Ray Geesey. The 1600 Relay team of Joyce Klunk, Sue Kotek Tina Kotek and Eve McMenamy qualified for dis- tricts as did Sue Godfrey and Tracy Gar- rett in the high jump competition. Sue Kotek also qualified in the 1600 and 3200, Tina Kotek in the long jump and Eve McMenamy in the 200 meter run. Sue Kotek and Sue Godfrey were the lone state qualifiers.
