Myers. C. Myers. The potential for a winning season was there. The Varsity baseball team started off with an impressive 5-1 pre-season record. The team scored 41 runs in the 6 pre-season games. Coach Shoff was disappointed, howev- er, in posting a 3-11 record in league play. He commented, A glance at the scores and one can tell we could score runs this year. We just couldn’t keep the other team from scoring more than we did.” John Gemmill led the team in batting with an average of .428. Overall the team’s batting average was .280. The team’s attitude was ex- cellent allthough the season was disappoint- ing.
