Hi!. .. The Spectator Staff would like to welcome you to Spectisney World. We have reflected upon our past four years at Dallastown and have reached the conclusion that our lives are comparable to a theme park which we have chosen to designate as Spectisney World. We arrived at the entrance of Spectisney World as scared freshmen in Sep- tember of 1977 and were assigned to Pantasyland where we were recognized as “chippies by the inhabitants of other lands. We then ventured into Never Never Land seeing ourselves as sophisticated sophomores only to experience a letdown. This year lacked the excitement we had previously anticipated. We advanced one step farther and found ourselves within Frontierland in the fall of 1979. As this year passed, we spent much of our time preparing ourselves for the transition from impatient juniors to the ultimate goal of becoming a senior. Now that we are in Tomorrow-land living the life of proud seniors, we look upon our past and remember the many long hours we gave to the lands of It’s A Small World and The Enchanted Sports Kingdom trying to do our best for the betterment of our school and community. We, the seniors, will always remember 1981 as being unique. Though we can never relive the memories we had once shared together, we hope that each time you open the doors of Spectisney World these memories can become realities once again. We hope you enjoy your journey through Spectisney World and that you are able to view it the same way we do. The Spectator Staff

Construction The expanded and improved facili- ties now being shown in Spectisney World represent the fourth major con- struction project at the park within an 18 year period. Spectisney World came into existence July 1, 1953. This loca- tion Tilled the park’s needs for five years. In September of 1958, Spectisney World was opened on a 53 acre site pur- chased a few years earlier. A new land consisting of additional attractions plus special facilities was opened in Septem- ber of 1964 toaccomadatc for increasing crowds. In 1971 a new park was con- structed in front of the main entrance to Spectisney World to house the youn- ger tourists. In January of 1976 the la- test addition to the park was made in Tomorrowland where seniors would pass most of their time. The facilities that are included in Spectisney World represent a community investment of nearly $10,000,000. The combined ef- forts of those who manage the park have certainly made Spectisney World an educational and extremely enjoyable experience. Operating Hours During the fall, winter, and spring, Spectisney World is normally open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. The park is normally closed during special holidays. Spectisney World offers extended study hours from 3:10 to 4:20 p.m. Monday through Friday. We advise Spectisney World guests to phone or write for exact infor- mation concerning days open, hours, events scheduled, performance times, etc., while planning a trip to Spectisney World. Parking Parking for cars will be provided on the lot directly in back of Spectisney World. Special parking spaces are re- served for Park Rangers and members of the Hall of Presidents. These spaces are designated by yellow lines and or signs. Any person who parks his car in Spectisney World’s parking lot will need to have the car registered in the park office. A Spectisney World identi- fication sticker will be placed on the right side of the rear bumper. We would remind all visitors of Spectisney World that the regulations of 15 m.p.h. in a park zone will be in effect. Lost And Found The Lo«t and Found Department is located in the park office. Anything lost should be reported to the office, and anything found should be brought to the office. Check daily for any item that you might have lost, for each year there are hundreds of unclaimed items left in the park office. The counter telephone in the park office is available to tourists free of charge if you can convince the park personnel that your call is an emergency. Dining Spectisney World’s restaurant offers a variety of menu selections for every tourist in the park. While Spectisney World features many deliciously differ- ent ’’specialities, you'll also find an impressive selection of traditional fa- vorites. Delicious dining to please any taste or appetite is never far away when visiting Spectisney World. The park restaurant will not take reservations. Busy lunch hours may be avoided by having an early or late lunch (10:50 or 11:40 a.m.). Shopping You’ll find everything in Spectisney World from souvenirs to school sup- plies. jewelry to stuffed animals, color- ing books to nylons, and don’t forget that physical education uniforms (GYMSUITS) may all be purchased at the Spectisney World’s School Store. We suggest you shop in the early morn- ing or mid-afternoon to avoid busy “last minute” shopping conditions when the park is closing. Rather than carry your purchases throughout the entire day, you may wish to check them in our locker facilities. 1 3
