I'D LIKE TO TEACH THE WORLD TO SING (IN PERFECT HARMONY) I'd like to build the world a home And furnish it with love. Grow apple trees and honeybees. And snow-white turtle doves. I'd like to teach the world to sing In perfect harmony. I'd like to hold it in my arms And keep it company. I'd like to see the world for once All standin' hand in hand And hear them echo through the hills For peace throughout the land. It’s the real thing. What the world wants today. That’s the way it w ill stay With the real thing ... peace and love. It's the real thing. I'd like to leach the world to sing In perfect harmony, A song of peace that echoes on And never goes away. Put your hand in my hand. Let's begin today. With your hand in my hand. Help me find a way. I'd like to see the world walk tall. Hand in hand in hand .. And hear them echo through the hills For peace throughout the land. I'd like to teach the w orld to sing In perfect harmony. A song of peace that echoes on And never goes away. POEM: The w ars of today and tomorrow Are no different from yesterday’s; And the peoples and customs of yesteryear’s life Are the same, but they’re not here to stay. For the youth of today are quite different And although some may say we cause grief. Our main goal in life is to slay today’s strife And to build us a world full of peace. We won't always get what we’d like to. And we don’t always give what we can; But who is to judge us for what we've done wrong Or reward us for what we have gained? So you see. it's not always just what we have done. Or what we have started or ceased; It's what we'll have tried to achieve that adds up . All we want is a world full of peace. M. L. R. 7
