CLASS OF 1968 JohnRossell, V. P.; Fred Bechtel, Pres.; Ruth Godfrey, Sec.; Ruth Marteny, Treas. CLASS SONG Words by Linda Bupp Music by Ned Strayer We, the class of sixty-eight, About to enter through the gate Of life and learning, trust, and truth. We leave behind our school and youth. We’ll always cherish the memories, though, As through this life we onward go, But always we must look ahead To greater heights as we've been led. We've learned so much the past few years As we look back with silent tears. Here we come, life, through your gate, We, the class of sixty-eight. CLASS ADVISOR: Mr. Douglas Smith CLASS MOTTO: It is not how much we have but how much we enjoy, that makes happiness. CLASS POEM When We've Left By Karen Moore For the future--when we've left--our destinies remain unknown. Will we wonder where we are, what we're doing, where we've gone? Perhaps we'll scan these pages and these words will be our own: We remember--don't forget us!--lor no matter what we've said, Even as our hearts arc living, so the mem'ries are not dead. Then we'll close this book and think of sunny paths we've ceased to tread. CLASS FLOWER: Daisy CLASS COLOR: Pale orange and cream 16

IN MEMORIAM McCRAESHRYOCK As we look back on the years spent at Dallastown, we cannot help but remember one who will not graduate with us. We, the class of 1968, dedicate this yearbook to the memory of McCrae Shryock, whose glowing personality and warm, friendly smile will never be forgotten. His enthusiasm toward education gave each of us the incentive to try a little harder. As the challenge of the adult world looms closer and closer, let us be willing to accept the responsibilities which we will soon be confronted with; let us honor and respect those qualities that were Mac's-- honesty, enthusiasm, loyalty, and sportsmanship; and let us strive to achieve the goals that would have been Mac's. 17
