MR. 8. RAY GRIMM, JR. SUPERVISING PRINCIPAL Napoleon always denied most vigorously that he was a victim of circumstances. Why, I make my own circumstances, he is quoted in saying. Everyone of us has the power to change himself into a better, more successful individual. If we sin- cerely try and if we use the brain that God gave us, we will succeed. A small lizard called a chameleon, reflects the color of its surroundings. Individuals often act like chameleons — bad, if placed in a bad environment, or good, if they chance to be surrounded by good. However, human beings, unlike the chameleon, can change their environment. A good personality can improve his environment. We are not a slave to environment, but we have the power to alter it. School life has taught us to do more than just reflect our environment. Improving our surroundings, recognizing good and having faith in others will most certainly insure personal success for each of us.
