Robert H. Hays, B.S., M.Ed. Dallastown Tilt Student Council was composed of representatives from each class and home- room. It was very active under the direc- tion of President Carolyn Raab and Adviser Robert Hays. In addition to the president, the other officers were Sheila Gemmill, vice- president; Joyce Heindcl, secretary; and Mary Klinedinst, treasurer. Besides sponsoring the Hallowe’en Dance, the Spring Dance, and the “Sock Hops, the Student Council with the Bea- con staff, co-sponsored the Winter Wonder- land Dance in December. They also su- pervised the Christmas decorating project. At the beginning of school, the Student Council presented a student handbook to every student. This handbook contained information concerning the school, songs, and cheers, graduation requirements, or- ganizations, and other activities. First row: Michael Sexton, Barbara Hoover. Martha Kohler. The Library Club under the supervision of Miss Mary Perry helped students find the right books. Surrounded by many books and magazines, the members helped to file cards, kept the books in active circulation, and signed many library passes. The mem- bers were busiest during the activity periods and study halls. Ninety new books—fiction, science, religion, biography, his- tory, and the arts—were added to the library. At the beginning of the year, the members of the Library Club assisted Miss Perry with mending the old books, dusting the shelves, and placing the new books in their proper places. 25 Mary Perry Dallustown
