In the two years that Coach Blair has been at Tech, he has made many friends both among the stu- dents and among the faculty members. He received his degree in Austin College at Sherman his home town. He coached at Sherman High School and later at Electra High Sclmool befcnre coming to Tech in the fall of 1942. He has coached the football team for two sea- sons, but last spring washis first attempt atcoach- ing our baseball team. He did all right, too, by leading the Wolves to the second pJ.ace in i3ity. HY CREED lWritten by Mary Tyson, a student of Bryan High, April 1922, I, a student of the Bryan High School of Dallas, believing that through the practice of high ideals I can help create an atmosphere bywhich myschool may always merit praise, do hereby pledge myself: To think clean thoughts, to read good books, and Uidestmw anyunclean literature that may fall into my hands. To speak as pure English as I know and to re- frain from the use of rough slang. To avoid extremes in my dress and in the use of cosmetics. To stand against promiscuous automobile riding and unconventional dancing. V To be true to myself, which means, among other things, to be honest in my class room work as on examination. V To so conduct myself as to be always worthy of big friendships, and to make a support and honor to my school, my home, and to my glorious nation. Let me congratulate each member of the graduating class on having completed astiff and long drawn outjob. High school graduation 'is no light assign- ment, and the fact of your graduation attests to',your special ability. Records show that only twenty out of every hundred people graduate from high school. Whatever the causes for the drop out from high school, it is significant in yourcase, that you have overcome these causes. ' ' If you continue to overcome causes which make other people drop out , you will capitalize upon the high school graduation which you have achieved. -Mywishes are a large measure of success and happiness for you. ter J.
