Guidance Mrs. Evelyn Rogers, Counselor Life's troubles are numerous, even in school. Everyone must talk about their troubles to someone. In the counseling office Mrs. Rogers and Mr. Jones have filled this job adequately. Even though not everyone takes their problems to these persons, a significant amount do; and they receive the kindness and consideration which only special people can provide. To many Seniors the Guidance Office has represented the first link between them and the college of their choice. The counselors are asked to help pick the college. They do so by supplying information to the student. They also organize trips to the different colleges of this area. The guidance office has well supplied information of available scholarships, through the use of the Senior Scoops . Many students have found that only through the use of the guidance personnel could they continue the road that leads to better education. The Student Body salutes the Guidance Office for fine and deligent work.

Mrs. Dorothy Ross, Secretary, Gen. Office Mrs. Ruth Villwock, Secretary, Guidance Office Mrs. Ruby Dashiell, Secretary, General Office Through all the confusion which so marks the school year, there was one group of individuals who kept their cool . All day, everyday, from 5 am to 12 midnight the custodians worked hard to be sure the high school campus would be in the superb condition it is in today. The menu for this year was not the most spectacular, but is is indeed a compliment to the cooks that over two hundred students each day enjoyed the foods presented to them. Three Jadies make up the secretarial staff of the offices. Mrs. Ross, always friendly and concerned kept the receipts and books in order. Mrs. Dasheill, equally winning, devotes her time to administrators and teachers alike. Across the hall, Mrs. Villwock could be seen typing, licking stamps and doing a myriad of guidance duties. Mrs. Thelma Eames, Mrs. Marcella Brown, Cafeteria Staff Mr. Walt Bowden, Mr. Lowell Barlow, Custodians Staff

Language Arts A department, whose influence is felt throughout the entire school, is English. In the past year much emphasis was placed on cirriculum and study. With five of seven teachers new in the department, students enjoyed a change of pace year. Special projects included a Title I program in Reading taught by Mr. Staab. Bottom left pic shows Mr. Brown handing out papers. Bottom right is a shot of Connie Parker listening to a McKenzie type lecture.
