As the year passes there is a slow but noticable buildup of tensions of routine. And then, just when students feel that they are on the edge , a pep assembly is called, a gym class is held, the final bell dismisses classes for the day, and another school day is over. Many of the memories of school life are those concerning extra-curricular activity, the daily barefoot practices of the Rally Squad in gym or cafeteria... The thrill of rope-swinging at a FHA slumber party... The remembered bit of afterschool conversation between student and teacher.. . The in sound of a local group of musicians... These things play a large part in the average students' life and, because or in spite of them, he survives and looks forward to another year.

.J Through the pages of this section the reader has followed the progress of the school year 1966-67. Its moments of delight and sorrow. . . The high points and the low. . . The awareness of group learning The silent contemplation of a loner... The need for each students' belonging and the like need for keeping his uniqueness... To try to recall the school year is a hopeless task, at best, the recollection is fragmentory. A face on a clock with the words, Time Passes - Will You? A calendar bare save for lonely June.. .A shrub outside a window in Room 15, growing, becoming dormant, and growing again. . .A deadline to be met... A prom date .. . College boards. . .A final game of the season. . .A moment of decision between green apple or red... Being last in line during late lunch. . .Waiting anxiously while tests are returned.. . Looking at your very own frog, in Biology. .. Watching the rain on a gloomy Monday .. . Walking thru the wet grass to an early class... These mean special things to Dallas High Students and are memories they will take with them when they leave. 17
