The Sounds Of Life 1966-67 A year of watchful anticipation. A long year for the grandstand and bench sitter... As the year wore on the fans became increasingly glum and only sporadic bits of encouragement gave them a chance to release the buildup of excitement long held back. Waiting for the announcement of Homecoming Queen... Listening with tears in eyes to the dedication of the Grandstand.. . Dallas fans and team were determined. And their stubborness finally won out. And so the year stretched on and the same fans were cheering for another sport another time. Music An important part of our lives ... to Dallas band members the bold blazes symbolized their pride and standing. The pep and marching band added their melody to the games and, between songs, cheered as well. The early routines later became an impressive precision formation that thrilled many. The well-rehearsed numbers seemed to revive fans at times. Time had its effect on the team as well. Direct carry-over of school spirit had a part in backing the athletes.
