JUNIORS SEATED: Sally Janzen, Secretary, Karen Buchanan, Activity Rep. , Bev Braden President, Suzic Brog, Treasurer, Sheryl Thomas, Election Rep. NOT SHOWN: Don DePiero, Sergeant-at-arms. This Junior Class, it seems, is to be the first to approach the 200 mark in the history of Dallas High. Along with being one of the larger, we have also been one of the most energetic classes. Throughout both football and basketball seasons we devoted out time to operating the popcorn machine, and we produced some of the best popcorn Dallas High has ever had. When we weren’t selling popcorn, we were winning pep assemblies which were judged on enunciation, loudness, and spirit. We must have had something to be able to beat those high-spirited seniors. To finish off the year we worked very hard and spent much money on a prom which turned out to be one of the hi-lites of the year. Add to this activity the fun we had together both in class and out, and if you don’t come up with a class which is the most daringly different, the most fun-loving, then at least we are the most populous. 17

ANN WINK DOUGLAS WOLF MICHAEL ZAHNLE JOELLEN BRILL RICHARD CLINTON JUDITH DICKEY t§m IN MEMORIAM - Marvin Laudahl On Friends Lost at Sea If you irritate the wound, Pcriklcs, no man In our city will enjoy the festivities. These men were washed under by the thudding seawaves, And the hearts in our chest are swollen with pain. Yet against this incurable misery, the gods Give us the harsh medicine of endurance. Sorrows come and go, friend, and now they strike us And we look with horror on the bleeding sores; Yet tomorrow others will mourn the dead. I tell you, Hold back your feminine tears and endure. 16 --Archilochos (8th century B. C.)
