We were a small class of a little over ninety members. Our one boast, that of staying out of the quarrels that were waged between the juniors and seniors. Our class officers for the first year as sophomores were: president. .T im Barnard: vice- president, Dick Sherman: secretary, Alvera Wenkog treasurer, Carrol Diehm. To help us get acquainted as sophomores we chose Mr. Kunke and Mr. Salisbury as advisors. We were very proud in February of our princess for the Sweetheart Ball, Virginia Collins. The junior year was a very busy one spent in pre- paring for the prom and banquet to be given for the seniors. The responsibility for this and other class activities rested on the shoulders of our class officers: president, Ivan Esau: vice-president, Dick Sherman: secretary, Eloise Staats: treasurer, Marilyn Anderson: Sergeant-at-arms, Don Stoneburner. The big job supervising our prom activities was given to Mrs. Barry and Mr. Richards. Most of our money raising activities were directed toward raising funds for the prom and banquet. The theme finally chosen for them was Deep Purple. Our royalty for the year were: Kandy Kane Princess, Virginia Collins: Sweetheart Princess, Sharon Shelton. The past year, our senior year, has seen the class mature and become more re- sponsible as we prepared for graduation. In early fall we elected as officers: president, J' im Cook: vice-president, VirginiaCo11insg Secretary-treasurer, Carol Nelson. Our advisers: Mr. Kunke and Mrs. Barry. Homecoming and we chose our court: Queen, Sue Lewis: Princesses, Judie Page, J' oan Rose, Virginia Collins, Carrol Diehm, Carol Nelson. At Christmas time we sponsored theChristmas dance Si1ver Thaw. Our candidate Carol Nelson was elected queen for the evening. Our Sweetheart for '59 was Cecilia Pascoe, and since this was Oregon's Centennial year we elected a Pioneer, Marvin Cook. We consider ourselves lucky to graduateinsucha significant year as 1959, when our state is celebrating its Centennial As we look into the future we hope we can find some- thing to pioneer. In their first game the Dragons were ahead until the last 28 seconds, losing to Tillamook 12-7. They tied St. Helens 13-13. The loss to Forest Grove by a 7-0 score was a heartbreaking one as Dallas had the ball first down and less than ten yards to go but they couldn't put it over. After losing to McMinnville, Dallas finally started to move when they whipped Newberg. The Dragons slid past Tigard in the home- coming game despite an injury to Bob Wall, as Steve Villwock guided the team to victory. Next Dallas rolled over the Oswego Lakers 12-O but lost to West Linn in a high-scoring game 39-19. In the season's final game played in a sea of mud, the Dragons, coached by Ken Jacobson, lost 5-O to Oregon City. 1 SEASON SCORES WE THE 7 Tillamook 1 13 St. Helens 1 0 Forest Grove 7 McMinnville 2 20 Newberg 20 Tigard 1 12 Oswego 19 West Linn 3 0 Oregon City 1 3 ,Mm A J' 1 1, New AG, JW Q SQQQIQMQ' , if Sl' ,MM 'ff' .5 ROW ONE: Jerold Fink, Everett Collingham, Larry Sullivan, Chappy Arnold, Tom Pascoe, Steve Villwock Jim Classen, Richard Whitlow, Arnold Mitchell.
