Advisors are Miss Joanne Stettler and Mr. Gordon Kunke. SENIORS SENIOR CLASS HISTORY This class of 1958 entered Dallas High as sophomores scared to death, spirits low, lost and bewildered. Finally the first few weeks went by and things looked brighter. We chose that year the following officers: President, Mike Kelley; Vice-President, Tom Parsons; Secretary, Marilyn Goertzen; Treasurer, Donna Bernier; Sergeant-at-Arms, Gary Henry. Mrs. Jamie Whitworth helped advise and Edward Caillier assisted us, too. Somehow we managed to get through with their help and we achieved a few honors. Donna Bernier and Doug Austin were selected king and Marilyn Norris escorted by Jack Bernier, was crowned May great fun with games and good treats for everyone. The girls the Pepettes and Junior Y-Teens. Because our class was out-citizenship trophy with much cheer. The junior year dawned bright and cheery but a few of us banquet and prom and we didn't want anything to go wrong, chose didn't actfancy; they gotin and worked. Our Vice-Pres-Treasurer, Murline Fast; and Sergeant-at-Arms, Doug Austin. Melvin Miller. We were represented in the student govern-ley, Sergeant-at-Arms. We won some awards of which we best actress and actor; the talent show trophy we proudly re-grieved. As this goes to press--the eleventh hour, we’re looking forward to more good fun, the prom. May dance, talent show, skip day, baccalaureate, and graduation. A gleaming black Dragon with lashing tail and attired in a real letterman sweater, with the D prominent on his puffed out chest. This treasure, which is scooted to all athletic events on a specially built platform, was lovingly made by Judy Ottaway, Judy Barnard , Judy Dick and Andrea Vincill, of wire, paper, paint, varnish and lots of imagination. WVL TOTEM POLE On Friday December 6. 1957, as the tradition yearly demanded, the six schools of the W. V. L. league came together to play for the totem pole and sportsmanship trophy. At about 10: P. M. it was announced that Dallas had won both awards. This totem was carved by a Klamath Indian named Lefty Wild Eagle. It was first won by Molalla in 1952; Silverton and Sandy tied in 1953; Molalla won again in 1954; Central in 1955; and Dallas won it both in 1956-57, and retains permanent possession.
