There are hermit souls that live withdrawn In the peace -of their self content, There are souls like stars that dwell apart In a fellowless firmamentg There are pioneer souls that blaze their paths Where highways never ran, . . . But let me live by the side of the road, And be a friend to man. .11 K H-me X A friend to man. To the students of Dallas High School, Mr. Jim Nix is exactly that. Every student who has been in his biology or anatomy classes has felt his quiet friendliness, his warm humor, and his helpful guidance. Never falling to defeat, Mr. Nix's guidance and cooperation has grown to be an in- tegral part of the school day at Dallas High. For several years Mr. Nix has coached the Powder Puff Football Team and the Eighth Grade Girls' Basket- ball Team and has made both of them teams to be feared. Because he has shown his dedication and accepted his responsibilities at D.H.S., we proudly dedicate the 1967 Dahiscan to MR. JIM NDi . . .
