oacfis Wessaye Looking back at our accomplishments on the fields of athletic competition this year, we find that we have been something less than spectacular as far as our won and lost record is concerned. However, we believe that our boys who participated in the athletic DWIGHT LEQNARD - Coagh events are better equipped to take on the responsibil- ities of citizenship and are therefore better students as a result of their participation. We would like to see more students taking an active interest in sports here at Dallas County High School. After all, this is an integral part of any high school program: and a school which believes in good, clean, athletic com- petition is also going to have a spirit of academic competition of which it can be proud. It is our desire to have winning teams in every sport here at DCHS, and we will do everything we can that is fair in order to win: however, we will never sacrifice the responsibilities of building character, and developing principles in order to win vic- tories on the field of competition. So, to our Seniors, who are leaving us this year, we note that you have not participated in many winning seasons during your athletic career here at DCHS. However, we are proud of you because you never lost the de- sire to win, and because you have demonstrated your ability to accept the hardships which will inevitably come your way as you become the leaders of tomorrow. MARVIN WARREN Assistant Coach
