GIRLS' BASKETBALL Although the girls' record was not impressive, they seemed to do better toward the end of the season. The girls had the desire but seemed unable to find awin during the first part of the season. Later, the girls caught fire, ending their season with a consolation victory in sectional play, which made it possible for the Eillies to advance to the district tournament. In the first round they defeated Altoona, losing to Urbandale in the second round. A I Carol Harms was named to the all-conference team, with Marilyn' Gannon making, second team. Linda Morris and Ruthie Laughman re-' ceived honora le mention. Marilyn was also named all county 'with Linda and Carol receiving honorable mention. Much of the credit should be given to our coach Harold Isley. Due to lflis patience and fine coaching the girls were able to end the season we . Thanks should also be given to our manager, Lynne Ellerman and our charters, Mary Taylor and Joyce Hooper.
