The purpose of the Student Government Association is to act as the rep- resentative voice of the student body. The Association consists of an executive and a legislative body. Five senators are chosen from each class, and they are directly responsible to the students in their class. The executive body is responsible to all the students. The Student Govern- ment Association speaks on behalf of the students, organizes activities for the students and the faculty, and serves to promote good relations between the students, faculty, and administration. The Student Govern- ment Association of Dallas Baptist College is governed by Student Con- stitution. TOP LEFT PICTURE OF SENIOR SENATORS: Top Row, Left to Right — Patty Parker. JoAnn Cary. a Yn C a » A a | » Student Foundation The DBC Student Foundation brings together students and administrators and promotes student involvement for students and their college. This group focuses its energies on funding scholarships, student recruitment, and public relations — interaction with all constituent groups associated with DBC. Its purpose is to involve students in meaningful projects resulting in a greater coi- lege and a more dedicated alumni. This year the Student Foundation contacted prospective students through Collegeday Night programs and area churches and represented DBC at the Baptist General Convention of Texas, as well as other luncheons and meetings where student representation was needed. Through the fund-raising efforts of the group, various juniors and seniors now attending DBC received financial aid in the form of Student Foundation schol- arships to assist them in finishing their education. The organization topped off the year by sponsoring Spring Spectacular — a week of activities including a golf tournament, tennis tournament, faculty-staff football game, a girls’ tricycle race, regatta, and a concert. 106 Organization Top Row, Left to Right — Danette Gray, Becky Cheyne, Debi Rath- bun, Craig McBride, Steve Farish.
