The Student Council is an organization made up of representatives of all the classes, who aid in directing school affairs, and student acuvities. The Councilis responsible to the student body and reports its actions to the student body. The main purpose of the council is to teach students self control, self government and democratic ways of living. Students form their character through the choices they make, the actions that they take, and the responsibilities that they accept. Student government also provides valuable experience in con- ducting meetings, and in debate and parliamentary procedure. Sincerely, tsl 'Q . 2 ' - 1' ynfgs IU ,xx B fb Q Qxfffxi. 1 .... O' 1' Ds ' , .9 . v. ,N as 5 f Miss Sadie Weedman, Teacher of Home Economics ,L i Home Economic was, at one time, classified as one of the frills of education. Today home makin courses have a definite and important place in ali levels of education from primary gradesthrough col- le e. The purpose of homemaking in the schools is toghelp the individual live a more usefuland satisfy- ing personal, family and community life. Years ago the curriculum of homemaking education meant only cooking and sewing. Not it includes courses in the following areas of education: l. Selection, preparing and serving of food. 2. Selection, care, renovation and con- struction of clothing. 3. Guidance and care of children. 4. Selection and care of the home and its furnishings. 5. Home care of sick, including first aid. 6. Maintenance of human and family relationships. These courses enables the individuals to broaden their purposes and provide for greater self development. Thus home economics is an active and continous pro- cess throughout school and life. Our high school tries to meet the needs of all pupils for future endeavor. So we try to prepare some who choose to go to college or University for train- ing in the sciences and engineering. while others are advised to become proficient in those subjects that will be of most everyday value upon leaving high school. However, in either event we hope the student will develop a habit of approach and thinking that will help him sucr'-e ' solve life's problems. ' .r M P ' Aho . -1 .
