DALE would be a useless hull without her engineering plant to propel her, or steam to power the ships generators that supply electricity to the weapons systems. The BT's and MM's of M and B division have as their re- sponsibility the upkeep and operation of that plant. Our air conditioning doesn't extend to the holes where temperatures reach up- wards of 1200 . Not exactly comfortable working conditions, but the BT's spend many hours a day in these spaces, on watch and at work. There's not much doubt that it's one of the toughest jobs on the ship but throughout the deployment, the engine- room was always able to answer all bells.
