The duties of A divi- sion are many and varied aboard DALE but consist mainly of providing the hot el services for the ship such as electrical power, heating, air conditioning, plumbing, and interior communications. Many of us shuddered to think of living conditions without our efficeint air con- ditioning plant during the months in tropical water s. On older ships, temperatures soared to over 100' while we lived and worked in comfort . The other services provided by Adivi- sion are much more important to the shiQS well being and proper operation. Electrl- cians to provide power for the ship'S WQH' pons systems, shipfitters to repair the Shlps plumbing systemg and damage controlmen standing by in case of a fire or emergency at sea. Movies were an important diver- sion and were provided on a daily bases by A divisiOn's IC men.
