ACULTY A D TAF F PASTOR R E HOFSTAD PRESIDENT As we thmk of your solourn at Dakota Lutheran Hlgh School wxth the 1nconven1ences and pr1vat1ons 1nev1tably 1nc1dent to p1oneermg m a venture such as ours, we thank God for supplymg your need of pat1ence ' We th1nk, for mstance, of the almost complete lack of furn1ture 1n the boys dormltory durmg the flrst weeks of the present school year, occasloned by negllgence on the part of an employee 1n the furn1ture wholesale house We remember also the d1stress1ng lack of electr1c l1ghts, because workmen were short of txme We have not forgotten the cheerfulness and contentment mamfested by all the boys You were 1n ' the w1ll of God ' Paul says, 'Godlmess W1 contentment IS great ga1n When we experxenced the most d1sappo1nt1ng setback of the year, through the burmng of the Mmot Armory, and were unable to locate another place for our ath1et1c act1v1t1es, we know not of one murmur If there were any, we d1d not hear them Th1s was a work of God's grace 1n you, and we thank you for thus havmg done the w1ll of God Had you y1elded to your carnal nature, you could eas1ly have prec1p1tated a v1c1ous storm You recogmzed an act of God s provldence and acted accordmgly We must hasten to add that, of course, such 1dea1 cond1t1ons have not always exlsted among us, for at 1mes God s w1ll has been momentar1ly lost slght of and the followlng words of Oswald Chambers descrlbe exactly what has occurred When once we lose s1ght of God, we beg1n to be reckless, we cast off certa1n restraints, we cast off pray1ng, we cast off the v1s1on of God ln l1ttle thmgs and beg1n to act on our own 1n1t1at1ve ' It has been wonderful when such seasons have been followed by convlctxon of s1n and confesslon w1th a.n occas1onal tear of genu1ne remorse Thus you were agam restored to fellowshlp w1th God as you honestly sought once more to do 'Hls good and acceptable and perfect w1ll The fact that we s1n does not determme our des 1n When we come to Jesus w1th lt, we are again m lme to ' rece1ve the promxse Jesus says, H1m that cometh to me I w1ll m no w1se cast out and Iwxll razse hmm up at the last day John 6 37,40 No .al gr r ' 69 - .th Q 1 .,, 0 . gl 1 Q ..
