VVlLMLon Cen RHEHCS The flrst annual Dakota Lutheran H1gh School Misslon Conference IS a matter of h1story and a glorlous chapter It is because of God's guxdance and evldent blessing, because of the 1nsp1ra tion furn1shed by eleven Lutheran mlsszonarles, the cooperatxon of students and staff members d th t st mamfested and support g1ven by fnends who attended the conference The con an e 1n ere ference was held dunng the elght days of March 5th to 12th There were twenty two double SCSSIOIIS nf e s eakers filled with mxsslonary 1nsp1rat1on, bes1des ten radio broadcasts featurmg co erenc p Thxs page and the two followmg pages will provxde a l1ttle conception of the nature of the pr ,gram One of the missionarles wrote 1n a published article as follows 'There were studles on the pr1nc1ples and practlces of mxssxonary lxfe and work, surveys of fields, dxscusslon groups, and mspirational messages Maps on the walls, exhxblt matenals from forelgn lands, free lxtera ture, missxonary book table and showmg of m1ss1on fxlms added much to the purpose of the meet ings The conference was advertlsed throughout the colmtrysxde, and frlends attended from many surronmdmg towns A speclal l'n1SS10l'l3.I'y offermg was glven at four of the evemng sesslons, whlch was desrgnated by the donors for vanous mxssxons and causes Into th1s occasxon, arranged by the Lord, He shed abroad a very free and earnest sp1r1 It seemed as 1f the lxght and challenge concermng missxons la1d out m the conference caught hke hooks 1n many hearts, to start some on the paths of obedlence and SBFVICE, or to encourage se that were already wallung Ill that d1rect1on Speaking of the conference, another m1ss1onary writes It brought real refreshment to my ul and encouragement to return to Bolivia to carry on the work of God s callmg there After returning to their home, the Landahls wrote to the school as follows ' Hearty greet ings and thank you to our dear frlends all at the Dakota Lutheran I-hgh School for the lovely fellowshlp we had with you, and for the kmdness shown us durmg the exght days of the conference To be there was xndeed a Joy and a pr1v1lege 'It was an 1nsp1rat1on to listen to the messages and the slnglng, share Ill the seasons of 7 rayer, and, not least, to hear the testlmonles from the young people 141 dam Chula C W wx C W Lan'-iahl cmna S D Fauske China Clara Jones, Chma Leslle Brandt, Chula , CFNNILM is af
