Almost all of the boys were enrolled in the class which was offered by DCHS. The classes main act- ivity has been sports and games this year but in future years calisthenics and a physical fitness program will play an important part in the course. Mais course has meant that boys who otherwise wo- uld have had no oytertunity for athletics, had a forty minute period, five days a week, in which they could receive the benefit of sports. This program although new to the state oflllinols has been used with wide success in other states. The Army has urged conversion to a physical fit- ness program as soon as possible because of the number of deferments for poor physical health in boys of high school age. The first year here at Dakota certainly proves the worth of this new step in physical education. x -N 1 -X ., 5 X g.--f ' B 1 1 a at , , ,K ', El ' , . , .
