Two practices a week and more when necessary were insisted upon as a qu- alification for band membership, One new instrument was added to the band - a baritone saxophone, played by Loretta Pieper. Band membership increased when several new members from Davis joined, At Christmas time the Band joined with the Chorus and gave a concert under the direct tion of Mr, Kiburz and Mr. Sehaper, The band did not play at basketball games this year owing to the fact that not enough ne- mbers could come to the games. The Band and Chorus sponsored the Home Ta- lent Show on February sixteenth. The me- ney made from this affair is to be devoted to the purchase of new music. This year Dakota was host to the annual county Music Festival, The Band took an active part in making this Festival in- structive and entertaining. .-.1-Q-vu-n-s q..,.,' lla.
