THE TALEBEARER m THE STUDENT COUNCIL The Student Council, whose purpose is to discuss problems of the school and plans for its betterment, was organized in 1923. The school treasurer, the athletic treasurer, a member selected by each class or society, and the president of each class are members of the organization, whose ad- visory member is the principal. The plans discussed at its weekly meetings and carried out under the supervision of its members have all been for the advancement of the school. A few of its accomplishments during the year are: 1. Conducting the sale of reserved seats for the basket-ball season. 2. Advertising of basket-ball games. 3. Installing lockers in the gym. 4. Sponsoring the sale of magazine subscriptions. 5. Furnishing a rest-room in the school. 6. Maintaining the school telephone. 7. Padding the stage at the gym. 8. Sponsoring Big Brother and Sister Day.
