SQUATTING: Jay De Lange, Wendell Veurink, This year we started our Cross Country season with the Freeman Invitational Meet. We finished second of four schools . On October 13, we traveled to Chamberlain for their Invitational Meet. We finished seventh out of eight schools. All other participating schools at this meet were Class A . Our next meet was another trip to Freeman for the Annual Class C meet. Out of nine teams we fin- ished fourth. The Southwestern Triangle Meet was the next meet for our cross country team. We finished third behind Western and Southwestern. October 21 was our only home meet. After a close meet with Springfield, we finished second. Our boys then traveled to the State Meet. Here we finished eighteenth out of thirty teams. Out of 118 runners in the state meet, our boys finished as fol- lows: Jay- 30th, Wendell- 65th, Darrell- 66th, Percy - 97th. Although only four guys turned out for the '72 Cross Country Season, it was very satisfying. Congratulations Guys!
