SQUATTING: Jay De Lange, Wendell Veurink, This year we started our Cross Country season with the Freeman Invitational Meet. We finished second of four schools . On October 13, we traveled to Chamberlain for their Invitational Meet. We finished seventh out of eight schools. All other participating schools at this meet were Class "A". Our next meet was another trip to Freeman for the Annual Class "C" meet. Out of nine teams we fin- ished fourth. The Southwestern Triangle Meet was the next meet for our cross country team. We finished third behind Western and Southwestern. October 21 was our only home meet. After a close meet with Springfield, we finished second. Our boys then traveled to the State Meet. Here we finished eighteenth out of thirty teams. Out of 118 runners in the state meet, our boys finished as fol- lows: Jay- 30th, Wendell- 65th, Darrell- 66th, Percy - 97th. Although only four guys turned out for the '72 Cross Country Season, it was very satisfying. Congratulations Guys! To earn a letter in basketball, a player must be an "A" varsity member. He must play in as many quarters as there are games in that season. Track letters are earned by placing in any event of a track meet that involves four or more schools. I8 THE MO SE THAT ROARED The Mouse That Roared was a two- act play that was presented by the DCHS Drama Club on April 20 and 21. The play has a cast of 32 with Mr. Thomas Day as the director. The play is a satirizing comedy about an imaginary country, the Duchy of Grand Fenwick, This Duchy declares war on the United States, because of the injustice done to her. Grand Fenwick ends up winning the war and gaining the Q bomb. This bomb is then used as a peace weapon to keep the world from war. The play was fun to give and was enjoyed by all. PRINCIPAL' MESSAGE May 25, 1972 Class of 1972 Dakota Christian High School New Holland, South Dakota Dear Graduates: "As ye have therefore received Christ jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him: Rooted and built up in I-lim, and established in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving. " fColossians 2: 6, 75 The passage you have chosen is an exhortation that is centered in Christ - in whom are hid all the treasurers of wisdom and knowledge. You have been instructed concerning His rank, person and work. Christ must be pre-eminent in your lives if your walk is to be fruit- ful in every good work. As Christians you will be actively walking in Christ. As you thus walk in I-lim, you will also be established in your faith. This stability is referred to when Paul speaks of being rooted and built up. If you truly walk in Him even as you have been taught, you will have a blessed strength of purpose as the end result. You have reached a commencement in your lives. May God give you joy and thanksgiving as you continue this walk of faith wherever He may lead you. Sincerely yours, Richard W.
