As a result of the splendid drills presented at football games, the honors won as the band traveled about to parades and contests, this organization has become one of the most highly rated and publicized in the state of Texas. The band repeatedly thrilled football crowds with their perfectly executed precision drills, and their flashy majorette dance and twirling routines to specially arranged swing numbers by the eighty piece Tiger Band. On October 19, the band gained a place of prominence by placing runner-up in a state- wide parade contest in Austin. The band also led the Louisiana State Fair Parade. The band won first division ratings in both marching and inspection at the Region XV March- ing Contest. Still more honors came to the band as they represented Del Mar College at the Industrial Bowl in Longview. The majorette line, under the direction of Mrs. Noble, has been a source of praise all year. The girls have made several television appearances. This group won 19 first division medals at the Region XV Twlrling Contest. . - W LX 1 R H A EPATIWE DRUM MAJOR ' , . 5 as 5 4 is f N, Q -' 5 'Q5??Eig1, k J agzw 4' S151 , . fm, -,if ,f ig , X 94 U N -- 1 5 - 'rw' K p K -,Q X wigwf, - f.:5Jgy2'3, ' i?:s5?1s5kr1' ' QNX f 5 .V if xf E395 BAND CAPTAIN I Doyle Church I5 gpq STUDENT DIRECTOR BAND DIRECTOR June Belk Billy Noble A, ,an-y..
