COMMANDER JOHN M. BARRY UNITED STATES NAVY Commandfr Barry was born and raised in Syracuse, New York where he graduated from St. Patrick ' s High School. He is a 1971 graduate of the U. S, Naval Academy with a B. S. in Electrical Engineering. He has served in five surface ships since being commissioned; Assistant First Lieutenant in USS SANTA BARBARA (AE 28), Chief Engineer and Executive Officer in USS GREEN BAY (PG 101), Weapons Officer in USS JOSEPH HEWES (FF 1078), Commissioning Chief Engineer in USS TICONDEROGA (CG 47), and Executive Olticer in USS KING (DDG 41). Ashore, Commander Barry attended the Li. S. Naval Postgraduate Sch(jol in Monterev, Califor- nia, earning a M. S. in Physics. His most recent tour was in the Pentagon as a Space Polic Planner in the Strategic Plans and Policy Directorate, J-5, of the Joint Staff. Commander Barry ' s personal decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy Commendation Medal, and the Navy Achievement Medal. He is married to the former Rosemary Murphy, R. ., of Syracuse, New York. Lhev reside in ' irginia Beach with their four children, Jennifer, John, Meaghan, and Kathlene. i Wjf K ' J m
