Every individual had something unique to offer to the Housing Staff - and that they did . . . The one thing we did have in common was the jackets. Although each R.A. had their own individual way of running their dorm, I feel the staff complimented one another. The one central goal which we have worked in achieving together was the goal of making the resident halls a better place to live. I think each R.A. can be confident in saying that we have come closer and closer to this goal each semester. I know as I leave Daemen I will be bringing with me many fine memories of the times I've spent with the Housing Staff. To Paul, Fran, Colleeen and all of the R.A.'s - Thanks. Campus Life 43 Campus Life 45 Commuters By: Nancy Grasso Daemen's commuters are an integral part of the college community. Aside from braving the elements to get to Daemen every day, they are involved in many campus activities from the stu- dent publications to fund raising for the United Way and The March of Dimes. The commuters add a touch of diversity to the growth of Daemen College. With Athletic Determination, Spirit And Skill. Be It Intramural, Intercollegiate, Now Ladies Or Men, Our Competition Is Fierce Whether We Lose Or Win. Mens Baseball: Mother Nature Plagues Another Winless Season by: Michael A. Piscitello Hopes were high as the Men's Baseball team anticipated clear skies for most of the season. However, it was not to be as spring rains forced rainouts and many practices to be held in Neuman Gym. Although the team did not win a game, the determination and unity they showed on the field, helped to produce themselves into giving a team effort. Hopefully this dedication will continue for next year. By: Heather McDonnell Rain or shine, sleet or hail, etc. is the motto of the '82-'83 Lady Warriors Softball team. The season opened in a snow- storm and closed during a rainstorm. This year's team is best characterized by dedication and perserverance. No matter how many times the games were rained out, the team was dressed and ready to battle with Mother Nature. The Lady Warrior's went 3-4 with 6 games cancelled. With the defensive skills and offensive surprises developed by the team (uplift motivation) it is possible that Daemen Athletics missed its chance for a winning season by a few raindrops and snowflakes. Leadership Inspires And Unites Men's Soccer By Mark Nagel and Chris Opladen Despite the Seemingly lopsided record of the Men's team this year, the team showed great improvement over the past year. There seemed to be a unifying force of togetherness amongst the members, which made the enduring season enjoying and created an atmosphere for learning. The attitude has made incredible progress from the previous laxidasical, noncaring attitude to one of fight and desire to win. This was fasciliated through the inspiring leadership of Mark Bersani and Leo Sammon, associated with assistant coach T.C. Under the guidance of Keith McFayden, the Daemen College men became a team. His dedication and leadership brought about a unification and respect as a whole. Keith, through his unique style, grew with each member and created a relationship as both a coach and a respected friend. We, the members of the team, will always remember Keith as the “founding father of Daemen's Mens Soccer. 50 Athletics Get Psyched!!! This final record is deceiving due to the fact that more than one half of the team consisted of new players not used to working together. The team was also stricken with injuries and key players were often unable to play in several games. Though facing such obstacles, the team was hardworking and played a much improved game. This improvement is evident due to the fact that the athletes eventually learned to work together and keep their heads high. We are looking forward to our next season and have high hopes of using the abilities gained throughout our past season. 54 Athletics Summer Volleyball By: Michael Piscitello One of the highlights of Freshmen Orientation was the volleyball game. Teams consisted of at least fifteen people. This created some action- packed moments as each team battled for service, points and the game. Al- though no one kept score, people en- joyed themselves as they competed for fun. UM Intramural Football By Michael Piscitello Because of the gym construction this year, the competitors switched to the new gridiron at Neuman Gym. This year is most noted for the induction of women teams into the competition. Though they did not compete against the men, the dedication for the game was as fierce as the men's teams. As always, the games brought large fan re- sponse, rooting their favorite team on to victory. Athletics 55 Daemen Breaks Ground For New Athletic Facility By: Lisa Bowden September 12,1983 brought the ground breaking ceremo- ny for the Daemen College Athletic Facility. Presiding members at the ceremony were Charles L. Lumsden Board of Trustees, President, Robert S. Marshall, Richard Plan- avsky representing Mayor Griffin, Amherst Supervisor Jack Sharpe, N.Y.S.V.P. of the Association of Towns John R. Shearer, and U.S. Congressman Henry J. Nowak. The ceremony was 20 minutes long with each dignitary saying a few words about the impact of the gym on the community. President Marshall expressed great thanks for all who helped and for the patience exhibited by the stu- dents while awaiting completion of this project. In the bidding, a special request for the use of only American- made steel was made for the gym's construction. Many Daemen students and faculty were on hand at the ceremony as well as reporters from Channels 4 and 7. A model of the Daemen complex remained on the podium throughout the morning for viewing by anyone interested. Construction of the gym should take 1-2 years before com- pletion. With Movies And Air Bands, Not To Mention F U B A R's, Campus Activities Campus Activities 63 Virginia Woolf Plays To A Serious Audience by Geraldo Delgado As one of their spring plays, the Daemen College Theatre Arts Department presented Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? It is a comedy by Edward Albee, that is hysterically funny one minute and depressing the next. The story is about a couple constantly at each others throats, who become a burden to their two guests. All of the four characters are simply put in one setting and argue over things stemming from drinking, education and sex. The cast included Anthony Taylor, Joanne McLarney, Greg Belter and Stephanie Doyle. They all did a fine job of creating on stage and gave a enjoyable performance. Anything Goes Turns Into A Spectacular Triumph by Geraldo Delgado The most eagerly awaited theatrical production at Dae- men Theatre was Cole Porter's Anything Goes. This was the first annual student directed and produced musical and, hopefully, marks the beginning of a tradition. Paul Michael, a senior Theatre Arts major at Daemen, has displayed his superlative talents as and as a director in many of Daemen's productions. He directs this musical with his finest touch, turning it into a spectacular triumph and a surprising delight. To say that Anything Goes qualifies for Broadway would be a lie, but it comes pretty close to the quality because of the work put into it. There was a strong effort to make this production as professional as possible, and it sure worked. 64 Campus Activities Miss Reardon Reaches Her Audience by Jeff Hodge And Miss Reardon Drinks A Little, by Paul Zindel was an all student production directed by Craig Palanker. The production was a humorous and touching story about three sisters confronting deep hostilities when forced to face a family crisis. The play was well received by audiences from April 29th to April 30th at the Daemen Theatre. The cast included Stephanie Doyle, Joanne McLarney, Theresa Di- Muro, Stephanie Harris and Jeff Hodge. 66 Campus Activities Daemen Goes Back In Time For A Night by Bob Macre On April 22, 1983, Daemen College, for the fourth con- secutive year, had its chance to go back in time to the Medieval period. During the Medieval Feast and Wine Tasting Festival, sponsored by the Daemen Art Directors and the Student Association. As I walked into the social room, I really felt like I was living back in the Medieval times. The walls were decorat- ed with tapestries and the tables were garnished with old- fashioned, stoneware candle holders and pinch bowls. The tables were set in a large square around the room, leaving the center open for dancing and mingling. During the meal, we were entertained by actors Robert Stilson, Michael Calante and Katy Clancy. They did a few skits, such as the Medieval News at 11:00 . Professors Ann Colley and Nancy Browne entertained us with music from the Medieval Period. At the conclusion of the seven-course meal, awards were presented, ranging from the best dressed couple, to the costume in the most need of work. Also, awards were given to ten people whose names were picked at random out of a bag. Following the awards presentation, the Nouvelle Dance Ensemble provided some dance music. Despite my problem of not having a Medieval Costume, I still had a splendid time. Campus Activities 67 The Experience Of Freshmen Orientation The Experience of Freshmen Orientation by: Renee Vacanti Freshmen Orientation is an experience every fresh- man must experience. There is fun and games, meet- ings and a lot of running around. It is tiring and also a lot of fun. There are old and new faces around. Meeting the new and remembering the old. Orientation is a time when we all meet the teachers and make new friends. We go to meetings with our mentors and orientation leaders. We have placement tests early in the morning and fun and games in the afternoon. We have relays and challenges, where we all laugh together, and enjoy ourselves. Super September Week End by Deb Palka Labor Day Weekend 1983, better known to Daemen Students as Super September Weekend got off to a swinging start, mini-skirts and sweatshirts hopping to the hot rock of The Beez . For those who survived the morning-after, Saturday September 3, our men's soccer team hosted a scrimmage against Canisius. All day, there were trips to Beaver Island State Park, Erie Basin Marina, Super Duper, and Neumann Gym. Ev- eryone met behind Wick for a gala picnic. That even- ing it was a bit more mellow with the Rathskeller open for socializing, a movie, and a guided tour of Niagara Falls. Sunday's opening Buffalo Bills games was a highlight for over 50 students. There were van trips to Buffalo Zoological Gardens and Deleware Park, Worship Services by Campus Ministry. Enter- tainment for the evening was the film Jaws and a Coffeehouse. Monday's annual Superstar's Competi- tion made for a lively, interesting afternoon. The weekend wound down with a movie and a quiet even- ing in the Rat. Many comments by participants were very positive, and shouts for More of the same next year were heard. 70 Campus Activities Lamda Chi Iota Car Wash by Kelly Sallidin Lambda Chi Iota's annual fall car- wash was a big success this year with record profit and amount of fun. The sisters had great weather and washed everything from compacts to deliv- ery trucks. Look at those legs!! Campus Activities 71 jg A Festive And Enjoyable Parent's Weekend by: Sharon-Kathleen O'Connor The Weekend started with an oldies night to welcome the parents on Friday. After the Academic open house, everyone enjoyed rooting for the men's soccer team on Saturday. They fought a hard battle against Genesee Com- munity College, losing 2 to 1. After the game, they soon joined the festivities of the Octoberfest. Later that same evening, everyone dressed up for the semi-formal dinner dance. The weekend was ended on Sunday with a cham- pagne brunch and mass. Campus Activities 73 by: Amy Pickwell On September 24,1983 Sigma Phi Epsilon hosted the annual Punk New Wave Party. Mixed drinks were served along with Upside-down Margarita's. Most people came Punked out , and some weren't even recogniz- able! Bill Guenther was the D.J. for the evening and kept every- one dancing all night! 74 Campus Activities P.J. Nut And Bolt Party by Dot Thom This years Resident Council had it's second Annual P.J. Nut and Bolt Party over the long Co- lumbus Day Weekend for those die-hard Daemen Partiers who stuck around. Everyone came clad in Jammies with each girl getting a nut, and every guy get- ting a bolt so they could spend the night screwing around . Three lucky couples matched and won gift certificates, while the Men's Soccer team spent an enjoyable evening in the Kiss- ing Booth. Campus Activities 75 Lambda Chi Iota Hosts New Year's Eve Party By: Kelly Salladin The second annual New Year's Eve party, host- ed by the sisters of Lambda Chi lota, was one again a big success this year. The party had a record turnout this year. Good music and cham- pagne were enjoyed by all. The sisters out did themselves wishing all a very Happy New Year. 76 Campus Activities Mystery Bar Bus Tour Proves To Be A Success By: Sharon Lippert On October 14, approximently 42 students boarded a yellow school bus in sheer excitement. Their mission: to set forth on a journey to some well known Buffalo bars for a night of dancing and drinking. It was a night that no student who went could forget, (provided they did not consume too much!) The Commuter Council sponsored its third Annual Mystery Bar Bus Tour solely for the purpose of letting students get off campus to have a good time without needing to worry about getting home safely. Commuters were given permission to stay the night on campus if they were too obliterated to drive home. The tourists visited three bars: The Four Stallions on Union Road, The B.B.C. on Bailey Avenue, and Mulligan's City location on Hertel Avenue. Drink specials for Daemen students at all of the bars made it easy (and economical) to enjoy themselves. The Bar Bus Tour was definitely a successful activity. The Com- muter Council should be proud of themselves for their efforts in this endeavor. Junior Class Party By: Nancy Stewart On Saturday, November 5, the Junior Class sponsored a Football Jersey Party. Peo- ple were encouraged to wear a jersey and received a ticket for a free drink. The party was a success and people who attended had a great time. The Junior Class also spon- sored a Semi-formal with the class of 1987. This event was also a success and the atten- dance for this function was very good. There was a live band to play at the event and high school students, who were visiting Daemen, were in attendance also. Organizations 77 78 Campus Activities Senior Class F.U.B.A.R.! By: Paul Hlushko October 29 was both a day of prosperity and posterity. On this day, the 1984 senior class hosted Daemen College's annual Halloween F.U.B.A.R. Lead by the class officers and thirty strong seniors, Wick Center was able to with- stand invasions by Trojans, Romans and the incredible giant-sized teabags. Adding to the good time were the rocking sounds of the Lu- mens. The evening was an enormous success financially for the senior class and for the crowds as they partied the night away in fu- bar-style. Campus Activities 79 Accounting Club Has Speakers By: Mimi Cuddy On Monday, November 14 at 7:00 P.M., the Business Ad- ministration students were presented with a seminar giv- en by the National Associ- ation of Accountants, hosted by the Accounting Club of Daemen College. The Seminar, hosted by Mr. Bud Kearns, Director of Education at U.B., lasted 2V2 hours and consisted of four outstanding speakers. The to- pics in the discussion ranged from the functions of the Na- tional Association of Accoun- tants (N.A.A.), to an analysis of the CMA exam (Certified Management Accounting), to the different careers that may be found in the management and public accounting fields. Veteran Sportscaster Speaks At Daemen By: Robert Macre Ralph Hubbell, veteran sportscaster and au- thor, was the first guest speaker in a fall lecture series sponsored by the English Club of Dae- men College. He spoke about his experiences in the broadcast media as well as his books and current projects. Hubbell's career in broadcasting has spanned a period of fifty years, touching every facet of the industry, including radio, televi- sion and the print media. He has authored three books, his latest being Across a Crowded Room, a book on public speaking. He is cur- rently the host of Channels 7's Aging is for Everyone, a public affairs program that's not only for senior citizens aired the fourth Satur- day of every month at 1:00 P.M. He also writes short vignettes for various local television and cable stations. 80 Campus Activities Blithe Spirit By: Jeffrey Hodge Blithe Spirit, by Noel Coward appeared on the Dae- men Stage November 10-13. The play, which takes place in England, was an improbable farce dealing with ghosts, miscommunication and a wacky medium. Charles (Joseph Lein) accidently called back his late wife Elvira, (Cyrene Esposito) to the dismay of his present wife Ruth (Janet Howes). This is the premise of a very funny evening, full of laughter and excite- ment. Besides the confusion of one wife that is dead, and another that is dead, Charles is forced to deal with the daffy medium (Joanne McLarney), a quick-heeled maid (Gina Armenia) and his two dinner guests, the Bradmans, (played by Jeff Hodge and Theresa Di- Muro.) Campus Activities 81 Airband!!! By: Michael Piscitello Sigma Phi Epsilon hosted its third con- secutive Airband Contest in Wick Social Room. People throughout the college community banded together to entertain the audience with a combination of mu- sic, acting and just plain old fun. Contes- tants had a chance to play in their favor- ite band, on their favorite instrument to dazzle the judges with guitar riffs and drum solos. Campus Activities 83 Physical Therapy Students Use Their Skill At The Massage-a-thon By: Dorian Rose On December 2, 1983, Lourdes Lounge was trans- formed into a bustling area of Junior and Senior Phys- ical Therapy Students. These people gave massages to the Daemen College community from 11:30 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. At the end of the afternoon, the students gave approximently 100 massages. All of the “pa- tients were very pleased with their massage and the Physical Therapy students were glad for the opportu- nity to use their skills that they have acquired in the classroom. 84 Campus Activities Daemen College Welcomes Two New Directors By: Michael A. Piscitello The Fall 1983 jemester will probably be known most noteably in faculty circles for the hiring of two new direc- tors. Hired were Carol Burnett (L) the New Director of Student Activities and Betsy Topper (B) the New Confer- ence Director. Both of their offices are located in Wick Center. The SUMMIT staff wishes them welcome to Dae- men as they start their tenure at this campus. English Club Welcomes Guest Speaker By: Michael A. Piscitello The English Club recently held its second lecture on De- cember 6, 1983. They wel- comed Linda Flowers who presented an overview of public relations in a non-for- profit organization. As a Daemen Col- lege student, you are a member of the Student Association. Your Activities Fee provides the budget with which the Stu- dent Association operates its comprehen- sive programs. Chief among these are co- operative efforts, with the administration and faculty, to enhance the social and academic life of the College. The elected members of the Student As- sociation constitute the Senate. Its pur- pose is to act as your official representa- tive, to articulate your views, and to care for your best interests with the adminis- tration and the faculty, along with other campus groups and the public in general. Student Association elections are held in the spring of each year, with freshman elections taking place soon after classes begin in the fall. The By-Laws of the Stu- dent Association are on file in the Student Association office and in the Student Af- fairs office, both of which are located in Wick Campus Center. Phi Gamma Mu Honor Organization Assists Handicapped By: Jill Debus Daemen College has a group of students who are quite visible but lack a unified voice. Everybody's Organization is now being reformed to help this group. The group's function is to assist physically disabled students and to make others aware of the needs of the handicapped. Physically challenged students have felt for some time that they are put in a corner and ignored. Everybody's Organization hopes that students will not think that the disabled can be made happy by giving them their own club; physically challenged students need to be part of the entire college commu- nity not pushed aside. This group fosters social comtact and understanding between the handicapped and the non-handicapped. Everybody's Organization Row 1: Ellen Ruhlmann, Jill De- bus, Will Whelan. Marchese and Michael A. Piscitello The theme of this thirty-second volume of the SUMMIT is change and transition. Throughout the year, we have seen changes in the college community. We have tried to reflect these changes in the six sections of this book. With the help of volunteer students the faculty, this edition, more than any other, has shown that campus involvement will produce excellent results. We hope that this volume will help illustrate the stu- dent's involvement and will encourage more involvement in years to come. As you page through this book, we hope that you, the reader, will remember some of the highlights of this past year. Next year as the changes continue so will our staff. We will experience a new editor and new staff members. As the poem in the epilogue deals with venturing out into the world community, the changes that you have shared at Daemen will be like the ones you will experience out in the world. We hope that this SUMMIT has brought you a glimpse of what you will be facing in the years ahead. Together, A New Faculty, Administration, Deans And More Are Opening Our Minds Like Never Before. Now these offices along with the Counseling and Placement offices are collectively known as the new Center For Professional Development. The Placement Office, headed by Nancy Hans, aids students and alumni with securing employment in their career field or pursuit of advanced study. The Cooperative Education Program is designed to supplement st students; academic programs with pro- fessionally related work experience. Headed by Alan DeBack, COOP places students with a variety of em- ployers in the community. The Department of Continuing Education is headed by Rosemary Goi. This office is responsible for the recruitment of non-traditional students, coordination of advisement for part-time, and the design and im- plementation of credit free programs for both profes- sional ans personal development. Richard Horner heads the Commun;ty Liasion of- fice. This position was created to expand Daemen's commitment to participate in a wide variety of com- munity and public service activities. The Liaison en- deavors to establish off-campus contacts with busin- esses and community leaders. Lastly, the Career Planning and Counseling Office, under the direction of O'Gene Donahue, is set up to counsel students for such things as personal goals and problems, marriage counseling, and drug counseling. By: Tammy Dusen The Communication Skills Center is located on the ground floor of Lourdes Hall. The Center was first desigend by Dean Curtis and Debbie Scott More, under the TitleLIII Grant for the main purpose of having something modern for the stu- dent. The Center is headed by Marcia Langreck. She feels that the center assists students in three pri- mary ways: 1) it provides students with such skills as speed reading and study skills, 2) it helps students with class work of strenous courses, 3) it gives students some academic extras . Students are able to come into the Center to learn how to operate a computer at their own pace and at no extra cost. Seeing a student learn something new and not having to grade the work gives Mrs. Langreck much satisfaction. In closing, she commented: Anyone who needs help can just come in. Communications Skills Center Is Now Open Administration And Faculty 139 Daemen Appoints Two New Deans By: Robert Macre This past January, Daemen President Dr. Robert S. Marshall introduced his Initiative For Growth program to the college administration. This program was designed to help further the development of Daemen College in several significant areas. One of these programs is the reorganization of the administration. Effective in July were two newly established associate dean positions. The Growth Program called for integration at all levels of academic and non- academic functions, thus the move by the adminitration to acquire two new associate deans. The actual titles are Associate Dean of Student Affairs (filled by Paul Hughes) and Associate Dean of the College (filled by Mary Ann Rehnke). Dean Paul Hughes is the former Director of Services of Disadvantaged Students of Johnston State College. Prior to that position, he was Dean of Students at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. He will be responsible primarily for the student affairs area. Dean Mary Ann Rehnke was formally a professor and Dean at Northern Kentucky University. She will be responsible primarily for the academic affairs area. One other area that will aid in the academic and non-academic exper- iences at Daemen, aside from the new deans, is the faculty review of all dgree programs and core curriculum requirements. Patricia E. Curtis, Dean of the College is very enthusistic with these moves. She hopes that this will help make all parts of the college mesh so that the student's total experience here leads to growth, development, knowledge and expertise. Daemen College Honors Sister Jeanne File O.S.F. For Thirty-Five Years Of Service by: Thirty-Fifth Anniversary Planning Committee It is very rare that one individual will dedicate herself to teach at one institution of learning. Sister Jeanne File is one of few who has accomplished this feat. She was the chairperson of the Art Department from 1948, when the college opened, until 1972. During her career at Dae- men, she pioneered television courses for credit and directed over thirty forty-five minute programs entitled Introduction to Art aired on WNED-TV. Sister Jeanne holds a Ph.D. from the Catholic University of America. Her interest in the art world has encouraged her to research courses of study for the New York State Curriculum Committee, and to publish Current Concepts of Art for her Alma Mater. She has also edited and written for many art periodicals. Daemen College honors Dr. Jeanne File, O.S.F., for her thirty- five years of dedicated service. Her enthusiasm and influence in the college community will endure for many years to come. As a tribute to this service, the Dr. Jeanne File O.S.F. Art Scholarship Fund was established in July of 1983. The purpose of this fund is to assist academically qualified students majoring in art art edu- cation. Students selected for the award must submit an art port- folio for evaluation and have achieved a high level of academic performance. 140 Administration And Faculty In Memory Andre J. Hannotte 1926—1983 He once told a newspaper reporter (in The Buffa- lo News): ''I've always liked to work with my hands. I'm a born peasant. Oh, I know with this Labor Day I will turn into a Professor once more, but I will still be a peasant. The Doe (To Andre) Not just her beauty burns my mind- Silky pearlgrey coat, moist brown eyes Pinktinged ears pointed and delicate. She came crashing, carefree, careless through The Autumn wood staight on. Then twenty feet away Started by a voice, she stopped - so suddenly Her breath came rushing on in trembling gasps Stockstill she stood a timeless, fractured while Poised - posing. Then with a perfect tour jete She disappeared among the dappling trees No, not mere loveliness disturbs my soul And spawns vague fear within my awe filled heart: In interrupted freedom, in joy intruded By the unexpected, in panic, even terror - in all She never faltered, never lost her grace. Elizabeth S. O'Neil By: Sharon-Kathleen O'Connor On July 24, 1983, Mr. Andre J. Hannotte, a well-known foreign lan- guage teacher at Daemen died of cancer. He was born in 1926, in Verviers, Belgium, where he attended high school; he later attended law school at the Universite Catholique de Louvain. He then served in the Belgian Army in World War II and rose to the rank of Sergeant before the war ended. He came to America in 1948 and worked his way through college, earning his Bachelors degree from the University of New York, and his Master's in French from Teacher's College of Columbia University. He taught in two high schools before coming to Rosary Hill College as an instructor later, then an Assistant Professor of French. He left in 1964 to be a Coordinator of Foreign Languages in the Williamsville School District, but returned to Daemen College as an Associate Professor of French. After that, except for one Sabatical leave. Monsieur Hannotte stayed with Daemen College. Over the summers, he taught in high schools and colleges and worked at various blue collar jobs. Professor Hannotte was known by most of the Daemen faculty, and his jokes cheered many a depressed person. But people most of all will re- member his courage. Andre Hannotte was never a quitter. He helped all of his students and friends to look at the brighter side of life. He had a ready smile, a cheerful laugh, and encouraging words that made people realize that life is not all bad. Even while he was faced with a brain tumor, months of radiation therapy treatment, and constant pain and suffering. Monsieur Hannotte smiled. Monsieur Hannotte, from the teachers that knew you, and from the students you taught, we would all like you to know, we will always love and miss you. Memoriam 141 ! Fading the never ending memories of those distant days. Although now removed from our minds' eye sight. These one hundred seventy-five pages should have shed a new light. Recalling the numerous changes that the seasons did send. As the rain changed to snow, then back to rain again. With this flowing swiftness the months did pass. From the timid introductions to terrible finals at last. Through this time together we could not help but grow, Producing an administration, a faculty, a student more bold. We accepted the challenges contemporaries did bring. Reflecting not knowledge, but intelligence, the more important being. At gatherings, and parties this closeness continued to form. Bringing all together, whether from home, off-campus, or dorms. To make a strong community of a hundred score. Tiny insignificant figures, we were no more. Although many are leaving, faced with choices or success. They go forth with luck, love and learning, as they put forth their best. Into an ocean, to find their own rivers or streams. To enter a new phase of life, and accomplish their dreams. So, just as the waterfall brings on the new and removes the old, A reflection of our lives, on these pages unfold. Although this final look may bring back good and bad. Recall that the times always seemed easier, because they were shared. 166 Epilogue Reflections Now Unfold Of The • • • Numerous Changes The Seasons Did Send Epilogue 169 Silver Patrons Congratulations and Love to Laurie Edwards From Mom and Dad Walt and Caroline Edwards 34 Lewis Road Akron, New York 14001 Mr. and Mrs. Paul A.
