i tsar Margaret Roach, Literary Editor; Clare Kuebler, Janet Weaver, Assistant Art Editors. TRIBUTE TO THE STAFF By a legitimate extension, the entire class of 1953 should be designated as the staff of this year’s Summit because we have been so closely united in mutual helpfulness. Unity, we have learned, is a transcendental attribute of being. A thing is to the extent that it is one. A class realizes its own nature more perfectly when it attains the degree of unity that is appropriate to it. This unity should be that of end, of purpose. We feel we are not presumptuous in saying that our class has achieved something of this unity; for the Summit, the joint effort of the whole senior class, is patently the product of a singular unanimity of spirit, of purpose, of endeavor, and of accomplishment. The oneness of our effort has, we believe, resulted in the integrity of this year’s Summit as seen in its unity of theme, simplicity of structure and style, and the subordination of its various parts to the central effect. All of this, in turn, reflects the singleness of mind and will of a united senior class which has produced it.
