Oh, my goodness! Mommie. Monday’s — Yuk! Friday’s Enthusiasm. Sorry — you flunked. It is sometimes difficult for a student when seated in a classroom, to think of a teacher as being anything other than a teacher. But the person holding that grade book or writing on the blackboard does have a life outside of school. Go Tigers! Teachers do not wait with bated breath for Monday mornings nor do they feel disappointment on “snow days. If anything, they look forward to TGIF, Thank God it’s Friday, with more zeal than the students. Oh boy! It started snowing! They do not enjoy grading papers, dealing out “F’s,” or giving students a hard time. Teachers want, very much, for their students to succeed, to do well. Teachers do the best they know how and it’s time we appreciated their efforts. Now Jean! Perhaps I seem most proud of the fact that I am a “TIGER” when the team wins the game that we all wanted so badly to win. However, even “TIGERS” lose. The important thing about being a “TIGER” is that a “TIGER” strives to give his best regardless of what the outcome may be. A “TIGER” has the initiative to practice harder next time and the incentive to push harder for his team. Being proud to be Dadeville means remaining loyal to my school and team. First of all, I am thankful for being given the oppor- tunity to work with this group of young girls. My first year at Dadeville has been a tremendous challenge but all good things are worth striving for. New demands have been made and it will take some time for them to be accepted and practiced. We have worked hard, prac- ticed long and through it all we have accomplished a great deal. During the summer we decided that Philli- pians 4:13 would be our motto and that we would strive to do our very best; the verse reads “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” V A R S I T Y C H E E R L E A D E R S Kim Jones Sponsor Page 77 Sports Margaret Montgomery Senior Connie Coe Junior Page 78 Sports JR. We often gripe, we often complain, we often push and shove, Yet friends we will forever stay. Some have been friends for as long as we can remember. Other have recently come around. Even if some don’t join us until December. That will be another friend we have found. We thought we were grown the day we entered first grade. No longer could we be treated as babies. We learned to stand alone and not be afraid, No longer could we be put off with maybes. As time marched on our friendship grew, Our future began to look bright. Our laughs were many, our sorrows were few. The things we did were beginning to turn out right. Page 186 Closing We entered the sixth grade with many thoughts and ideas. To prove we were eager and ready. After long hard waiting through the recent years, We worked earnestly hard and steady. Now was the time to advance one step further, It was more like a giant leap. No matter how lost we were, we still had each other, Our lives were changing and the changes were very steep. Slowly we adjusted and things simmered down. It only took time after all. Our lives seemed as if they were spinning round and round, Just waiting for a place to fall. Through the following years we grew in many ways, We could not have done it on our own. We realized it was the last of our high school days, For soon we would all be gone. Page 187 Closing It is now time for us to make decisions of many kinds. One’s that would do some good. Decisions that would effect the rest of our lives, As long as everything is understood. When this year is over we will all go our separate ways. That time is not far ahead. We cannot help but to remember of memories of yesterday. Along with the laughs and tears that were shed. We know there is a lot ahead of us to bear, Everyday adds a little bit more. As long as we have our friendship to share. We will always survive, the Senior Class of Eighty-Four. Susan Clanton Page 188 Closing CCA4ING SCCN Much work has been done by the 1984 Yearbook Staff. Some twenty members have spent many hours making lay-outs, typing copy sheets, taking photos and most importantly trying to create treasured memorabilia for each student. The staff has tried to center this edition of the Talisman around a movie theme. We hope your years at Dadeville can be an exciting serial. We would like to thank the students and faculty for their support and help. Our special thanks and recognition is extended to Mitchell Caldwell, Mrs. Jonnie Fae Pennington, Mr. Mike Barron and Mr. Barry Reed. 1984 Talisman Staff Page 189 Closing A4y Sweetheart Page 190 Autographs Forever Friends Page 191 Autographs Autographs Page 192 Autographs - ■ . - '- . - • v . - ' -4 - t Ti Pn r- rawgr - - _ •J N- -L l -' - v ° dfC x . •vs-- T.r . « V •‘ivN v • • '..,• V -, . • V %'- w' ' 0+ • V ’ - , - - .- - '• v. - - r--'Z-e-- ' - ’ -V .P •' -■ ____ . • - “v 1 • % - «a X :— • - %, % • - • •% ■ - - . -.%• . s- - -V J V. • • - . •• • ; =■? -• . •-•% ,' x -n ' % i . 1%- :% X J N —. % N .A . • - - .- «. % ' -• .
