2W cj Lcation and ecomincj Cl eremomeA Dr, A. R. Meadows, State Supt. of Education, dedicated our new school on Homecoming Day in a ceremony October 7, 1949, held in the gymnasium. Preceding the dedication the students, lead by the band and the Homecoming Queen, Jo Ann Henderson, and her maids, Billie Nell Black and Betty Jean Patterson, paraded through town. Following the dedication a barbecue was served in the Piedmont Youth Center. Concluding the day was a football game between Dadeville High School’s team and the Alabama School for the Deaf. Dadeville won 27 to 7. Standing left to right in the top picture taken during the dedication are: A.H. Wallace, Principal; Rev. Fred Postma; W.C. White, County Board of Education; J.A. Pruett, County Supt. of Education; T.C. Lester, County Board of Education; Dr. A.R. Mfadows, State Supt. of Education; J.L.
