These friendships have been found to be cherished long after our high school days have ended. I The pathways taken by the stu- dents were as varied as the inter- ests of the different individuals. Dedicated effort, laissez-faire, enthusiasm, and just-barely-get- ting-by have been some of the paths tried by Dade High stu- dents. Many pathways to competition have been trod by the Wildcats as they added a unifying effect to our trek along the pathway of education. Participation in athletics has improved men- tal , physical, and moral vigor in the athletes and a feeling of pride and good sportsmanship in the spectators. Participation in club activities opened the avenues to school and community services. FHA initia- tion , construction of the Indus- trial Arts' float, and participa- tion of Pep Club members added spice to many school days. Thanksgiving baskets sponsored by the Student Council and painting of the library by the Library Assistants rendered serv- ice to others. The avenue of act- ing was opened to those who took part in the one-act play for dis- trict competition. In Appreciation To a man who has contributed much to the develop- ment of our athletic program during the past seven years by opening doors to our mental and physical improvement, we, the yearbook staff representing the student body and faculty of Dade County High School, extend our deepest appreciation to you. Board Of Education Solving the problems of the school system is sometimes diffi- cult. Many times the best solu- tions are not clear to all and the board members may differ in their opinions. One thing all the members have in mind is the overall good of the students. That is really what it’s all about. We owe much gratitude to these who make the policies for the school system, the members of the Dade County Board of Educa- tion, and to the superintendent, Mr. Dexter Stanphill, and his staff who implement the poli- cies. MR. HENRY ELLIOTT Visiting Teacher 15 Principal And Secretary Mrs. Ryan, who is always ready to help, is starting out her day with a determined look. This department helps students meet the challenges and responsibilities placed on today’s business leaders. 20 Vocational Education MR. CHARLES JOHNSTON MRS. MARTHA PULLEN In the Vocational Education Department, students learned basic skills, such as sew- ing , cooking, and drafting, while they gained valuable experience.
