CLASS HISTORY There comesa time in the life of every Senior when he finds himself reminiscing over the past 11 years of his life in school. We have reached that time and have decided to set our memories down on paper so that the Seniors in years to come may profit by our mistakes and thus find out what we learned the hard way. As a happy crowd of 6 year olds, our present dignified Seniors jostled into the 1st grade room on that never-to- be-forgotten day in September 1939 to experience their first day of school. Of these 54 snaggle toothed and wide- eyed youngsters only 7 have reached the coveted grade of Seniors of Dade High. These are Patsy Renfroe, Ronelle Ryan, Kathleen Morrison, A. C. Durham, Cora Gass, Howard Daniel, and Louretta Morgan. As our class proceeded on its way toward high school several new faces appeared among our ranks, four of whom have stayed. These are, Jacque Greene, Omar Bradford, Betty King and Dale Dover. Finally, after 7 hard years we received our Certificates and thus reached our long sought-after title of Freshmen of Dade High. We knew that this year was all important, so we tried our best to appear as seasoned high school stu- dents and were determined to work earnestly and make our names known. At the beginning of this year we noticed several other frightened Freshmen who joined us eagerly and remained for the next 4 years. They were Marvin Brad- ford, Lacey Neal, Janet Barnes, John Ingram, Louise Carver, Janet Cross, ClaraDean, Charles Hollingsworth, Ruth Wallen, Henry Kilgore, Athene Holtzhower, Joyce Moore, Franklin Baker, Joanna Massy, Bobby Fugatt, Ruby Smith, Junior Wells and Imogene Schurch. The next September we returned to Dade High full of vim and vigor and equipped mentally and physically (we hoped) to cope with our new and heavier subjects. We had an enjoyable time together with our new classmates, Ruth Payne, Junior Williams, Jack Murphy and Nina Keeton, and completed our Sophomore year without a care in the world.
