Old students and new students alike were in a free for all, as they fought for their classes. It all started as a first-come first-serve race at 9 a.m. in the morning. After registering for needed classes, the students filed over to get their student I.D. cards. Some slipped by the' photographer who was taking pictures for Aquarius, but most were photographed. All students were most gratified for the new pre- registration system which was initiated during the Winter and Spring Quarters. This procedure will make registrations of the future a great deal easier for everyone involved. Students spend approximately four hours a day in classrooms taking tests, listening to lectures, working in laboratories, and discussing assignments. But classes are only part of the story since iust as much time must be spent outside the classroom in order to complete assignments. Meetings, meetings and more meetings is the tone of faculty orientation interspersed with completing course outlines, compiling bibliographies and ordering films. Time is found, however, for an occasional social gathering. I Y i I 5 M M fe ik-v-v 1 ...Q I6 ,:-- . WE. L.-1..-A Paw QuafetwuAof1uitg Pwuools I 6, l l, Il ' tfff, J X. .14 v Q A , ,- .M . The first period featured a college mixer that was planned for students to become acquainted with their new environment and meet new friends. The Populoires, a musical combo, presented a concert with songs from the past. The Fall Arts Festival was the feature of the secondactivity period. Whether in the college laboratory or in the hospital with real patients, the emphasis is the same - safe patient care. Learning manual skills such as making beds, giving iniections or taking blood pressures is an important task for each student.
