MANAGERS Troop, Laurie Si Cathy George Terri Wright, Cathy mons, Diana Wenzel, What organization at Van Horn contained the nucleus of one welI-rounded team? Who else but the 1975-76 Track Team! Al- though they faced a tough schedule, the suburban meets being the hardest, Coach Pauk felt the team fully capable of doing well this season. Some of the strongest events would prove to be: pole vaulting, the 880, shot put, distance, high hurdles, and sprint. ln pole vaulting, Barney Hattey, who took City last year, and Mike Clark, who holds the Freshman City record, were favored to do well. David Schrick ran the 880 in 2:06 flat last year and would be a strong contender this year. Some of the best distance men were listed as: Frank Gallick, Gary Winslow, and Joe Vereecke. Coach Pauk remarked that overall his most valuable player would certainly have to be Paul Brown, who would be talented enough to do anything from the hurdles to the triple jump.

One of the team's strenghths was the only girl member, Lori Zacha- rias, who would prove to be a challenge to the other members, as she was rated first in the Independence Tennis Association. Some of the squad's other strong points were their determination and the crowd's participation. Mike Kline, senior, remarked, The audience can make all the difference in the world. Unfortunately, at Van Horn, sports such as tennis and track are sometimes overlooked. Coach: Tom Fay
