BOARD OF EDUCATION The operation and much of the success of a school depends on our Board of Education. These men have given unselfishly of their time and energy with little or no compensation returns. We can always be certain that they have the interests of us all in mind and will continue the wonderful job they are now doing. Our superintendent of schools, Mr. Mclntyre, our principal, Mr. Case, and our faculty have spent much time preparing us for the battle of life. The knowledge and indispensable traits of character they have instilled in us are our chief weapons. There is not one of us who is able to thank them enough or fully evaluate their true worth, but we can, and will, try earnest- ly to prove their efforts have not been in vain. SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOULS Carol Peters, Secretary The old order changeth making way for the new. What was good and modern before the atomic bomb is now as antiquated as the horse and buggy. Our young men and women must realize that a crisis faces our youth. It is ab- solutely imperative that we maintain a superiority in the bal- ance of power if America is to lead the world on the path of peace. , The only solution for a peaceful future is an educated citizenry. The high school days for seniors have ended, but education should never end. Trained young men and women will make it possible for us to maintain our superiority in all fields. Through the grace of God, may we exemplify real Christian living, making it possible for countries to regard us as a Christian benefactor working so that all nations may live in a democracy with a standard of living comparable to ours. All though our teams Seasonal record 9-I3 doesn't look like such an achievment, if you would look at the scores or better yet, if you saw the games, you'd see why our 1955-56 Varsity squad deserves a real pot on the shoulder. ln the tournament games we won 3 out of four, beating Merrill, Medford, Nekooso and bowing only to Wausau, winding up with the Consolation Championship. Co-Captains this year were John Szarkowitz and George Meuret. Szarkowitz was voted most valuable player, he also rated an honorable mention on all- conference team. Marriage The audience at Everest, the prompters and the stage, managers, the cast, and the di- rector all enjoyed the one-act play, Marriage The High The play High Window dealt with the problem of Walter Winthrop, a young man under the control of his Aunt Emily, who has' made him believe he murdered his Uncle during a period of insanity. He was finally freed by the intervention of Linda Norton, a young reporter, who loves him. She proves that he could not have committed the crime, The Dear The Dear Departed is a humorous play with a strong moral lesson. Believing that their father, Able Merry- weather, just died, Mrs. Slater and Mrs. Jordan begin to divide his property even be- fore the arrival of the doctor. While each tries to out do the other in a surface show of grief, it is obvious as the play progresses that they are interested only in the material pro- Proposal Proposal .
