X gsQ ,f' I DEDICATIO On October 13 1883 at Pine Grove, Michigan David Clark Everest was born. He was graduated from the high school at Gables Michigan with high honors with the class of 1899. Immediately afterward he had to work to support his mother and sister due to the death of his father. In 1946 he received an Honorary Degree Doctor ot Business Administration from North- land College Ashland, Wisconsin, and in 1953 an Honf orary Degree Doctor of Laws, from the University of Wisconsin. While in high school Mr. Everest took an active part in debate, oratory dramatics, track baseball and foot- ball. He likes all competitive sports and formerly hunted fished and played golf. Stamp and coin collecting auto- graphs and collecting old and new books and old letters are his hobbies. Our dedicatee is a person who has a marvelous per sonality and always has a helpful word of advice for everyone After many years of experience and hard work he has come to be a very noted personality in America especially in the surrounding community He started as an office boy and has worked himself up until today he is chairman of the Board of Marathon Corporaton and Marathon Paper Mills of Canada Limited He has acted as vice president president chairman director chief consultant honorary member member at large and lust a member of over forty organizations To this outstanding man after whom our school is named we the Senior Class of 1954 would like to dedicate this EVERETTE Mr D C EVEREST 'L Viv-vi 6 Track Star at I6 Twenty sixth Birthday .iq Q' ai ' 3 . 1 lv 6 Qyi Row 2: K.
