Jerry Adam, President Dorothy Ulrich, Secretary Terry Adam, Vice-President Margaret Poulter, Treasurer , Doris Quade, Reporter ' Class History The year T948 was a memorable one in Cypress- Fairbanks High School, for in that year from the grammar grades were ushered sixty Freshmen. In various school activities the Freshman Class soon made a reputation in scholastic activities and popu- larity contests. ln the Freshman year Jerry Adam was elected Class President, Joe Ellen Beal and Jerry, most popular, Joe Ellen, a medal in Home- making. In short, our first year was quite a success, and we felt competent to be classified as Sopho- mares. We had hardly grown accustomed to our new dignity and sophisticated attitude when our class enrollment showed fifty-one of the original sixty. The success of our first year, somehow, had gone to our heads, and we found ourselves slipping from innocent Freshmen to silly Sophomores. Our grades, school activities, love affairs and disappointments rose and fell too often for security. Glenn Moye and Shirley Pritchett represented the class in a one-act ploy contest. Honors went to Margaret Vermillion as Homecoming Queen, to Dorothy Ulrich a medal Not Pictured: Charlie Bertani and Kathleen Ebel. in Social Science, and Martha and Edwin were chosen most popular boy and girl in high school. Forty-six of the original sixty Freshmen became jolly Juniors. This was the year that Doris won a spelling certificate, Martha and Terry were voted most popular, Donnie and Doris won medals as outstanding volleyball players. ln 1951 forty-eight enrolled as Seniors. Still achieving, still pursuing, became their motto. Look what happened-Robert Vela, most popular boy, Shirley Black, Homecoming Queen and most beauti- ful girl, Sharon and Terry, most bashful, Bobby Jacquet, most handsome, Robert and Dorothy, most representative, Margaret Poulter and Robert Vela, most friendly, Martha and Edwin, best all-around, Terry and Jerry, Charlie and Edwin were football stars who helped win all-district championship, cheerleaders were Martha, Margaret Poulter, Margaret Vermillion, Donnie, Shirley Pritchett, and Rosemarree Hatch. So now we say Au Revoir but not good-bye.
