Cfadd .Maier The class of 1953 began its adventure into the world of leaming in 1941. David Mounts is the only senior who has completed all twelve years here at Cynthiana. There were seventeen students in our class when we were Green Freshmen . They were: Rosalie Appman, Donald Brown, Gerald Armstrong, Joan Lashbrook, Albert Martin, Jack Martin, Doyle Marvel, Vernita Mathews, David Mounts, John Mclntire, John Ramsey, Margie Pollard, Fred Schmitt, Jim Schenelle, Jim Wise, Junior Williams and Bernell Brown. Out of this group there were only nine left to start the sophomore year. The officers which we chose when we were Freshmen were: President -Jack Marting Vice-President - Donald Browng Secretary-Treasurer - Vernita Mathews, In our Freshmen year we went to the finals in the class tourney but were overcome by the seniors. There were ten who began our Sophomore year with Fern Guffey as our only new member. The officers which we chose in our Sophomore year were: President - Doyle Marvel: Vice-Presi- dent - Donald Browng Secretary-Treasurer -Joan Lashbrook. Fern Guffey was elected cheerleader from our class. During the year the class had many parties. This year we went to the finals in the class toumey and came out victorious over the seniors. In the Junior year two students dropped out, Fern Guffey and Joan Lashbrook. Two new members to the class were Joyce Lane and James Williams. Fern Guffey retumed to the class the second semester. There were eleven members in the class. George In A Jam was the name of the comedy which we presented with the entire class in the cast in our Junior year. Again in our Junior year we proved to have the best basketball team in the high school in the class tourney. The theme for the reception which the Juniors gave the Seniors was Western. The officers for our class in our Junior year were: President - Donald Browng Vice-President - Doyle Marvel, Secretary-Treasurer -'Joyce Lane.
