vga ll CLASS HISTORY In the Fall of 1938, four teen children fou d themselves in Cynthiana School Everything was new to them including the teacher, Miss Mary Durell But they were determined to strive ahead regardless of the obstacles put before them At the beginning of the second grade we had lost three students out of our class but gained three students from the class before us We continued on our way into the third and fourth grades and we seemed to gain more knowledge as the years rolled by In the seventh grade we gained more students with two girls and one boy coming from Stewartsville The first eight years of school had passed by quickly and in . the Fall of '46 we started to school as Green Freshman with 23 in our Q,9 class and Hr Vlntin L Woodard as sponsor, We came back the next 0 xg ,X 1 V x I' Q X 'pl 0. xx 17' ' Qs 4' w ' year as Sophmores Some dropped out of the Senior Class but the jf' others were determined to fulfill the one year which the important to them. Two of the girls, Lauretta Crowder and Joyce Clark had dropped out to start a life of matromonial bliss. Out of the original class of 14, six students, James Lockwood, Ewell Marvel, Elizabeth Gwaltney, Irene Rice, Ella Pritchett, and Allen Ross have completed all their 12 years of schooling at the C. H. S. We chose Mr. William Newman class sponsor and to help us with our school paper, Annual, and Play. .. 11 -is Reallzing our school days were almost over, we looked back them and saw the sorrows and joys we had known. The friends we made, the A's we made on tests, and how many times we were sent office are a few of the things we shall never forget.
