Office Of Curriculum Mr. John Steinhauer Mr. John Steinhauer, assistant superintendent, is the business man- ager in charge of supplies, buildings, and maintenance. Mr. Clinton Emmerich is also an assistant superintendent and is in charge of per- sonnel and instruction. Dr. Ruth Clayton, co-ordinator of student per- sonnel services, heads the testing and health programs and the en- richment program. Mr. David Hardwick is the supervisor of secondary education and heads the math, science, and practical arts program. Dr. Wayne Kaufman, the head of the athletics, health, and physical education program, supervises the coaches and physical education teachers. Board Of Education The Board of Education, elected by the voters of Cuyahoga Falls, is pledged to supervise the formation of school policies and to make decisions concerning the hiring and salaries of those connected with the city’s edu- cational system. The five members comprising the Board are elected for two-year terms. They meet on the first and third Tuesdays of each month to discuss and solve problems of finances, personnel, building and grounds maintenance and operation, and health and safety. These issues form the basic committees which investigate and report to the Board any problems which might arise. Board meetings are held in the Administration Building on Stow Street at 7:30 p.m. and are open to the public. The Board members, left to right, are William T. Moore, Robert Kyle, W. Howard Nicol, Charles W. Campbell, and David E. Anderson. Superintendent Of Schools Dr. Harold E. Wilson, Superintendent of Schools, is the chief execu- tive and advisory officer for the Cuyahoga Falls City School District. He was appointed by the Board of Education in August, 1964, and is responsible to the Board for every aspect of administration. He provides the Board with the information and research needed for the appraisal of existing policies and adoption of new ones. He appoints, directs, and assigns all principals, teachers, and other certi- fied personnel, and supervises the education of all school-aged children in Cuyahoga Falls. 14

Cuyahoga Falls School System provides two special services to the students attending any of the thirteen schools in the city. The speech therapists correct speech irregularities, and the psychologists provide individual guidance. Seated left to right are the speech therapists: Mrs. Patricia Skinner, Mrs. Jane Cochrane, and Mr. George Dillon.. Nurse, Therapists, And Psychologists Fill Vital Positions 16 Mrs. Ruby Craig, the school nurse, is available at various times of the day to aid students who become ill at school. A schedule of the times that she is in the high school is posted on the bulletin board out- side the office.
