The Student Council ie the governing organization of the school, represent- ing the student body. It is composed of the officers of each class, president and vice-president of each club, as well as two at-large positions filled by the student body. The twenty-eight members are divided into four commit- tees which are Pride, Leadership, Fund Raising, and Student Advisory. Each committee meets once a week and reports back to the Council. Projects that the Student Council are involved in include filling the Coke machine and counting the money, purchasing speakers for the stereo system, and setting up Mini Class Day. The team actors were Aaron Greene and David Baker in humorous solo performances Debate was also added ro Cut Bank s forensics this year In Lmcoln-Douglas debate was Troy Tooley and the team debaters were Jason Rood, Paul Arnot. Jordon Peccia, Bruce Corcoran, and Bill Burns Cut Bank also hosted their first annual forensic tournament in December Over two hundred students from the entire state attended the meet Although the team was very young, the quality of each performance was constantly improving. Team members with the greatest success were Troy Tooley. Aaron Greene. Jason Rood, and Paul Arnot who all made it to state Micaela Greene and Rick Seewald were also very good, but, unfortunately. Just missed being awarded the chance for state. The Cut Bank girls track team finished in a tie for third at the District meet, placed sixth at the Divisional meet, and were eleventh in the State Class B Championships. Sophomore Nancy Armbruster placed third in the high jump, tying the school record of 5'2 at state. Junior Brandy Baker was third in the 800 meters in 2:23.29, and senior Lisa Nostrant placed fourth in the javelin at 119'8 . Armbruster, Barb Reagan, Donna Sherrard, and Kristin Mattocks placed fourth in the 4x100 relay with a time of 51.57, which was the seasons best. Competing in the state meet but not placing were Trish Lindgrin and Barb Weber. New school records were set in 1985 by Lisa Nostrant (javelin 123'2 ) Trish Lindgren (triple jump 32'4% ) and Barb Weber (discus 117'2 Vs ). Nancy Armbruster, Barb Reagan, Donna Sherrard, Kristin Mattocks, Lisa Nostrant, and Brandy Baker were all named to the All-State Class B team.
