We can all look back and remember his walking down the halls with a grin on his face. His jokes made the grumpiest person smile. He is a very important Senior memory, and the Senior Class will Jways miss him. 16 Student Council Pres. - Jeff Siebrecht Secretary - Jill Armbruster Jeff Siebrecht as president has led the student government. The student council worked together to purchase a new stereo system and to open the lobby for dances. They also bought the trophy for the drill team. Student council representatives attended the area student council meeting at Power and the state meeting at Kalispell. The activities include the fall concert, Nov. 7; Christmas concert, Dec. 19; and a spring concert, May 15. The choir had a magazine, record, and tape sale to help earn money for this year's tour. Merle and Clen Edwards were ' 'medalists'' at state. Merle Shortman won Sr. Division at AAU meet. Merle and Perry Hoff qualified for AAU Regional meet. Merle took second and went to nationals in Kansas. He took 88th place in Kansas. Russ Bachmeier and Brian Vogt shared most improved honors. Russ Bachmeier was most inspirational. Merle Shortman was most valuable. For the girls, Rose Moulton was most inspirational. Mary Sue Tebaracci and Diane Sherrard shared honors for most improved. Tina Jensen was the most valuable. Johnson, T. Finstad, J. Love. The Cut Bank Wrestlers had a fine season. Nine wrestlers paced the Wolves to a 2nd place divisional finish. Of these nine wrestlers, four placed at state. They were Blair Parker-2nd, Kirt Bjoin-3rd, Kerry Meznarich-3rd, and Mike Wynn -4th. The team placed higher at state than any other team from our division. Congratulations! ! ! 100 . Varsity Action Cheer Leaders Lef me-£fie you tch and scratch 'ISJV Starburst Boys' Track Cut Bank's 1978 girls' track team placed fourth in the Northern Division Meet and tied for sixteenth in the State Class A championships. The Wolves broke four school records during the season. In the finals at state, Laurie Lighthizer threw the javelin 119'5 to place fifth and score Cut Bank's only state point, and this espablished a new school record. Jen Lee Johnson put the shot 35'5 1 2 which is also a new CBHS record. Deb Sherrard's 110'8'' discus throw and Chen Burton s 5'0 high jump were also record breaking performances for Cut Bank athletes. Girls who qualified for state were Deb Sherrard, Deb Clore, Tina Jensen, Charlotte Johnson, Janet Hughes, Laurie Lighthizer, Mary Sue Tabaracci, Jeri Lee Johnson, and Cheri Burton. Golf uu Front Row: M. Smith, K. Salois, R. Millward, C. Perry, M. Smiley The girls team finished second and the boys finished fourth in the divisional golf tournament. At divisional, Jill Parker was 3rd, Martha Smith 5th, Lisette Love 6th, Karla Salois 8th, and Ann Tavary 10th. Jill, Martha, and Lisette qualified for state. 108 The tennis team won 4 out of 5 meets. Seven out of 10 girls went to state tournament in Missoula. Girls took 1st at divisional and the boys took 2nd. John Armbruster and Carl Schilling won the boys double title at divisional. Girls won 1st, 2nd, and 3rd at divisional.
